Dear Parents,
Freedom Valley School is delighted to organize a Debate Competition for the students of Classes IX & XI as part of our endeavour to develop critical thinking, communication skills, confidence, and awareness among students.
📅 Date: Saturday, 3rd October 2026
🕘 Time: During the CCA Period
📍 Venue: School Auditorium
✨ The competition aims to provide students with a platform to express their views, present logical arguments, listen to different perspectives, and engage in meaningful discussion on an important contemporary issue.
🎤 Debate Topic: "Ganesh Visarjan and Water Pollution: Is it justified to strictly regulate religious traditions under the guidelines of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?"
📜 Guidelines
🔹 Register your child's name with the class teacher by 30th September 2026.
🔹 Students will participate in the debate individually and will be assigned For or Against the topic.
🔹 Participants should present clear, logical, and well-structured arguments supported by relevant examples or facts.
🔹 Students should focus on reasoning, evidence, clarity of speech, and effective communication.
🔹 Participants should respect opposing viewpoints and maintain polite and appropriate language throughout the debate.
🔹 Each participant will be given approximately 2–3 minutes to present their views.
🔹 Students are encouraged to prepare their arguments thoroughly and avoid reading directly from notes during the presentation.
