Today, almost every teenager has easy access to Artificial Intelligence (AI) through mobile phones, laptops and computers. AI can be useful for professionals but excessive and unsupervised use can affect a child’s habit of thinking, learning and solving problems independently.
We therefore request all parents to strictly monitor their child's use of AI applications and chatbots. Children should not use AI to get ready-made answers for homework, assignments or general questions.
Please encourage your child to:
- First read the textbook and try to find the answer independently.
- Use reference books, encyclopedias and other reliable sources for additional information.
- Write answers in their own words instead of copying AI-generated answers.
- Ask teachers and parents whenever they have doubts.
- Develop the habit of reading books and regularly issue books from the school library to gain extra knowledge.
- Use technology as a learning support, not as a replacement for their own thinking.
Parents are also requested to ensure that children do not share personal, family or sensitive information with AI chatbots or unknown online applications.
Our children do not need AI to think for them. They need opportunities to develop their own human intelligence, creativity, memory, reasoning and wisdom.
Let us work together to ensure that our children read more, think more, write independently and learn more—rather than simply asking AI for answers.
