Class V will have a four-language system: English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Gujarati. Sanskrit and Gujarati will be introductory. In Class IX, students can choose one as their third language. Please read the detailed circular.
Dear Parents,
Jay Hind! Greetings from Freedom Valley School!
We would like to inform you about an important update in the academic structure as per the latest guidelines issued by CBSE, along with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023.
As per these guidelines, the three-language formula has been made compulsory for all students up to Class XII in the coming years.
Implementation for Class V (Current Academic Year):
From this academic year, Class V students will study four languages, as detailed below:
- English – First Language - 6 periods per week
- Hindi – Second Language - 6 periods per week
- Sanskrit – Third Language - 3 periods per week
- Gujarati – Third Language - 3 periods per week
Please note that Sanskrit and Gujarati will be introduced with fewer periods to ensure a balanced and manageable learning experience for students. The third language is generally introductory to basic level. It is not as advanced as the first or second language.
Future Language Choice:
In Class IX, students will be given the option to choose either Sanskrit or Gujarati as their third language, based on their interest and preference.
This structure has been introduced to enhance multilingual skills and align with national educational goals.
We request your support and cooperation in helping your child adapt to this updated curriculum.
For any queries, please feel free to contact the school office.
Warm regards,
Principal
